PRESIDENTIAL POWERS
Introduction

The presidential power chart is provided to help give a better understanding of the shift of powers within the executive as proposed in most of the republican models that have been put forward to date.

An interesting analogy is that of power charts for an aircraft engine and the use of them by pilots in obtaining the performance of their aircraft in accordance with their flight manuals. The performance of an aircraft's engine is dependent on many factors such as temperature and pressure. Similarly, the performance of our constitution is dependent on several factors much of which is central to the powers within the constitution and who (literally) exercises them.

Any movement of such powers from one area of the constitution to another is also capable of rearranging the balance of power. Such rearrangement may alter the stability of our form of government in the long term if not in the immediate future. It would be a pity to muck around with the constitution power chart only to find out that our Constitution "flames-out" without any hope of an airborne restart!
